Kpone Katamanso Peace Ambassadors meet with Fishermen and Political Party youth.
FOSDA’s Peace Ambassadors from the Kpone Katamanso constituency in the Greater Accra Region reached out to fishermen at the Kpone Beace on Friday 27th October. Prior to this activity the group had introduced themselves to constituency leaders such as the District Chief Executive, the Traditional Council and the District Police Commander.
The group also visited the office of some of the political parties in the constituency and engaged them on the need to for peaceful conduct before, during and after the impending elections. They place emphasis on the curbing the engagement of political party foot soldiers, mostly youth, in violent activities or activities that can trigger violence and advise the political parties to eschew these.
At the beach the fishermen listened careful to the youth While mending their nets. They were delighted and invited the Peace Ambassadors to come back when at busy hours to reach more people with this important message.
This activity forms part of FOSDA 2016 Non-violence elections campaign dubbed: Ghana 2016 Youth in Peaceful Election Campaign funded by the USAID REWARD Programme.
